Sunday Studio: Moving Images that Break the Mold, MOCA, Los Angeles, September 7

Date: September 07, 2014sunday_studio_logo

Time: 1:00 pm

Calling makers of all ages and experience levels: for this Sunday Studio installment, work alone or with friends and family to explore the art of experimental film. Start by watching innovative short films by artists including John Baldessari, Wallace Berman, and Bruce Conner, whose two- and three-dimensional works are on view in Selections from the Permanent Collection. Then go into maker-mode to push the boundaries of video on your own smart phone or iPad. You’ll have a variety of funky materials to create your own images, and MOCA Educators will be on hand to demonstrate experimental shooting and editing techniques. Project your videos in our mini-screening tents to check your progress and show your finished pieces. Great music and food trucks will fuel your work that day!
FREE; no reservations
