MFA 2014, Laguna Art Museum, Opens June 8

June 8 – 29, 2014MFA 2014

Opening reception: Saturday, June 7

Laguna Art Museum hosts Laguna College of Art + Design‘s graduate MFA in Painting and Drawing exhibition in summer 2014. The exhibition is on display in the museum’s lower level galleries, and admission is free for the duration of the exhibition.
.
Following the popular success of this exhibition the last two years, Laguna Art Museum is excited to partner once again with LCAD by hosting an exhibition of work by LCAD students who are completing their Master of Fine Arts degrees in painting and drawing. The show offers an invaluable opportunity for the next generation of artists to introduce their work to a wider audience.
.
Featured artists include Cindy Bernhard, Mario Colon, Therese Conte, Lani Emanuel, Zara Feeney, Zoey Frank, Emily Gordon, Julio Labra, Sandy Manich, Michael McGregor, Robert Nichols, Miguel Camacho Padilla, Leanne Reinhold, Katie Schmid, Cynthia Sitton, Bradford Smith, Justin Snodgrass, Sally Strand, Brandon Tucker, Trevor Walker, and Dylan Weiler.
.
LCAD’s MFA in Painting and Drawing is a two-year program in which students turn focused research into the formal and conceptual potentials of representational painting and drawing. Designed as an immersion in the history, theory, and practice of representation, LCAD’s MFA in Painting and Drawing program functions as a laboratory where students can investigate contemporary subject matter within the pictorial tradition. The MFA exhibition at Laguna Art Museum will show the breadth of this research from current MFA students.
.
The museum will host a reception for MFA ’14 on June 7 at 6:00 p.m. Click here for more inform.
