Does Public Opinion Matter?

 by James Moore

No, we are not talking about the television show, here. We are talking about whether or not the ‘voice’ matters when it comes to a business becoming a success. The answer? It most definitely does.

Let’s begin with some headline news. Everyone is speaking about the fact that Jon Stewart, host of ‘The Daily Show,’ started making jokes about the Affordable Care Act and how unbelievably bad the website turned out to be. It is about as efficient as a restaurant in an abandoned town. Now, for the billions who watch the show, they already know his comments are not shocking because this show is 2dedicated to teasing, ribbing, joking, and basically showing all the ridiculous that Washington and others have to offer. But when Stewart voiced his opinion, it became headline news. People began saying that once Stewart teased you, you have lost all your supporters. Why? Because Stewart has a hit show and is beloved by most people – especially the younger generation of voters.

Now, this is only one example of someone simply voicing an opinion that brought out every voice imaginable. When it comes to businesses – and having a successful one that is able to build their customer list and maintain it over a long period of time – voices also matter. In other words, you don’t have to be a celebrity like Stewart to make Rome fall.

One bad comment on a social media site about your company spreads like wildfire. The clicks, tweets, retweets, pins, shares – you name it – everyone jumps on board when it comes to the negative. And if that happens to your company and you do not catch it in time and correct it, you will be the next ‘Rome’ to crumble.

Negative news spreads. Social media can build you or break you in seconds. Therefore, a business had better make sure they have the right model and corporate structure to work, while STILL making sure to provide customer satisfaction at a moment’s notice.

BAM Franchises are located in the health and wellness industry. MassageLuXe, FaceLuXe, Xist Fitness, Spray La Vie and The TAN Heart RateCompany are franchises that are popping up all across the country as they get more and more positive press. BAM Franchises are based on taking care of the client, providing skilled and expert employees in order to serve the client well when they come through the doors, and offering ‘5-Star’ environments that people absolutely love. After all, pampering is a good thing.

But they go that one leap forward in every department they run. Employers offer a great place to work that creates happy employees who have a passion for their job; their smiles and great attitudes rub off on the client immediately, and the client, in turn, finds themselves even happier when they walk out the doors.

The more positive the client is, the faster they head to their social media networks and talk about their ‘experience.’ Information is spread across these networks, as we all know, and the franchise enjoys better success, higher ROI and builds a loyal client list; people who will come back again and again because of the great service that’s provided.

This is the power of the voice. Bad reviews at one time were not all that frightening. People would talk in their neighborhood; they did not have the avenues of social media to make their point.

There are many ingredients to running a company that will rise in popularity every month. So keep tabs on your social media in order to stop the negative comment in its tracks before its seen by millions. Because if you don’t, it is very possible that one voice will silence your company forever.

BAM Franchises and the rest of the ‘voices’ out there know that the BAM way is the right way!
